From 1999 to 2008 Maryland experienced an increase of more than 30 percent in per capita personal income. Maryland ranked first in the nation in median household income at $70,545 in 2008. Also, per-capita personal income, in 2008, ranked fourth in the nation at $48,091 per year. In 2008, Marylanders earned an average $925 per week.
