In April 2010, the Governor convened the Highway Access Permit Stakeholder Review Group. The Group is charged with making recommendations to streamline the process of connecting new developments to the State's highways. The Group will assess current procedures in Maryland and review best practices nationwide. The Group will develop recommendations to make the permit process more efficient, through new policy, regulation, and use of technology, such as a web-based tracking system.
