Chair, Board of Directors, Jefferson School. Member, Carroll Creek Rotary Club; Humane Society; Elks Club; Optimist Club; Frederick County Chamber of Commerce (past member, board of directors); Men's Garden Club; Little Boys' Book Club. Legislator of the Year Award, Maryland Classified Employees Association, 2008. Legislator Award, Maryland Municipal Association, 2008. Member, All Saints' Episcopal Church. Married; three children.
